Parallel Application Performance Signature:
We seek to characterize the behaviour of the message passing applications on different machines by extracting a Signature. This Signature will allow us to know in what machine the application performance will be the best. To reach this goal, we have developed PAS2P (Parallel Application Signature to Performance Prediction), to find intrinsic characteristics of the application. We were able to identify and extract representative phases, and with them, we created a Parallel Application Signature that lets us predict the application performance. We have obtained results using scientific applications such as the NAS Parallel Benchmarks, Sweep3D and Parallel Ocean Model on different clusters and a set of experiments with different types of mappings and workloads. We predicted the execution time with an average accuracy above 97%.
