Why did you choose the Master's program Simulation Sciences? I have chosen this Master's program for many reasons. First of all, and the most important motive for me to attend this university, the German Research School offer a Master's program in Simulation Sciences. During my diploma studies I was working for industry for some time and found that there is a gap between the things they teach you at school and the things you have to face while working. Secondly, I was quite impressed by the fact that our lessons are taught in English, which is an additional advantage in the international field of simulation. Being faced with a huge variety of people from all over the world, speaking different languages and having different cultures is amazing. |

Why would you recommend the German Research School to other students worldwide? I would highly recommend the German Research School to other students because of the quality of education which is offered, the exceptional learning atmosphere and the very qualified professors. The German Research School offers a great education but also expects a lot of effort from every single student. You really need to be prepared, hard working and dedicated to succeed in this Master's program. |

What are your plans for the future, once you have finished your Master's degree? After finishing my Master's program there are two alternatives. The first one includes working at a university as an assistant. The other alternative is to work in industry, probably in the department of Research and Development. I have not yet decided which path to take. |

Where and in what kind of industry or research would you like to work in the future? My field of interest is occupant and pedestrian safety simulation. Current safety regulations show the dramatic importance of vehicle safety. The automotive industry is not only interested in building safer cars, but also in investigating potential injuries of both occupants and pedestrians. For this, it becomes more and more important to build simulation models which match the human body more accurately. While writing my diploma thesis I was analyzing different criteria of injuries using a dummy simulation model. The aim of my analysis was to reduce the injuries of the dummy by optimizing the frontal restraint system. So, after my Master's degree in Simulation Sciences I would like to work in the field of safety simulations in the automotive industry or in research institutes. Therefore, I am interested in human model simulation and biomechanics. |

What do you do in your free time? I like meeting my friends, playing basketball and jogging. As soon as I have a little more time I will try to learn more about Russian and Turkish literature, culture and history. |

How is living in Aachen? Aachen is a very nice historical city which provides many opportunities for students. For those who like to go out, I recommend the pubs on Pontstrasse. For those interested in Turkish "delights" I would recommend a stop at the Orient Express and Lato's on Templergraben, quite close to the main building and try out the Tavuk Sote accompanied by a glass of Ayran. |
