Car spaces should be available any time. From there it is just a five minutes walk to our building: Walk Turmstraße (crossing railway), then take the steps down to Geschwister-Scholl-Straße and turn left and walk for another minute until you reach the German Research School at Schinkelstraße 2a on your left-hand side. Please remember to return the guest parking badge when you leave. • For disabled people: When you are at Pontwall take the first left into Wüllnerstraße and the next right which will lead you to the parking area close to our building. Please be aware that the street makes a sharp turn. You can get a parking batch from the secretary; please ask for it beforehand. |

By train
Aachen is linked to the international railway network. Every two hours, the high-speed train THALYS operates between Paris and Cologne via Aachen. In between, ICE trains run from Frankfurt to Brussels via Aachen. There are good regional connections to the cities of Cologne and Düsseldorf. An hourly connection to Heerlen (which takes approx. 30 minutes) links Aachen to the Dutch railway system. • Aachen West This is the nearest station to the German Research School, however not all trains stop here. The exit lies in an underpass. In the underpass turn to the left and directly after the underpass turn right into Geschwister-Scholl-Straße. Follow the road; the institute is located 100m after the viaduct in Schinkelstrasse 2a on the left hand side (approx. 5 minutes walk from the station). • Aachen Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) The easiest way to the institute is to take a taxi. It is also possible to take a bus (line 13b) from the station (the bus stop is located on the opposite side of the road to the station’s entrance) to bus stop „Technische Hochschule”. Schinkelstraße is on the opposite side of the road. |
