Master / Bachelor certificates
Please attach a copy of your Master / Bachelor (or equivalent) certificate. If it is not in English or German, we need a certified translation in one of these languages.
Transcript(s) of records
Please attach a copy of all your transcripts or other academic records including credits and grades in each single subject. If these transcripts are not in English or German, we need a certified translation in one of these languages.
TOEFL or IELTS certificate
The applicants need to demonstrate their English language skills and proof this by submitting a TOEFL or IELTS certificate. The test must not be older than two years and the minimal score is 550 / 213 / 80 for the paper- / computer- / internet-based TOEFL and 6.0 for the IELTS test.
Applicants with a first degree from a German institution alternatively may prove that they were attending English classes for at least five years. Nationals and/or first-degree holders of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom and USA do not have to submit language certificates. The official TOEFL score report must be received by the German Research School for Simulation Sciences directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The ETS/TOEFL - Code for the German Research School for Simulation Sciences is 2746.
GRE score
The GRE test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and critical thinking and analytic writing skills. The official GRE score report must be received by the German Research School for Simulation Sciences directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The ETS/GRE - Code for the German Research School for Simulation Sciences is 2746.
Recommendations
Three recommendations are required. Please ask the referees to fill the template in the application form and to write a recommendation letter. The referees should send the two documents separately from your application, either via mail or email. You might also include them in sealed envelopes if you choose to send your application via mail.
