Why did you choose the Master's program Simulation Sciences?

There are many opportunities and connections available to GRS students.

Why would you recommend the German Research School to other students worldwide?

I've always planned to keep studying until I earned my Ph.D., after which I'd like to continue my life in academia as a professor or research scientist.

What are your plans for the future, once you have finished your Master's degree?

After finishing my Master's program there are two alternatives. The first one includes working at a university as an assistant. The other alternative is to work in industry, probably in the department of Research and Development. I have not yet decided which path to take.

Where and in what kind of industry or research would you like to work in the future?

My background is in aerospace engineering where I learned a lot about fluid mechanics. I'm very interested in simulation and computational fluid dynamics, especially biological fluid dynamics and the simulation of it. This is what I would like to focus my research on.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time I hang out with friends, do sports such as running or going to the gym, programming and working on personal projects, and of course occasionally partying with my friends here.

How is living in Aachen?

Aachen isn't a very big city, but it's full of students and is a very lively city. Getting around town is very easy - I mostly just walk where I need to go, and the public transit (busses) is great for farther distances or if you're just feeling lazy. Aachen is also a very historical city with some nice buildings and monuments. And of course if one wants to get out of Aachen, there are many choices, including the nearby cities of Cologne, Düsseldorf, Bonn, Maastricht or the Eifel Forest.
